Newmarket Racecourses is delighted to announce an extension to the partnership with bet365 to include the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile and the Old Rowley Cup on Friday, 13th October, the first day of Dubai Future Champions Festival.
This new three year contract will be included in bet365’s overall sponsorship portfolio at Newmarket Racecourses, which also includes the three day bet365 Craven Meeting in April and also Official Betting Partner status for the Moët and Chandon July Festival.
The £500,000 bet365 Fillies’ Mile is regarded as one of the pinnacle races in the racing calendar for fillies, with recent winners including Rhododendron in 2016 and seven times Group 1 winner, Minding in 2015, both trained by Aidan O’Brien. The bet365 Old Rowley Cup Heritage Handicap, for three years olds, is one of the most competitive handicaps of the year.
Amy Starkey, Regional Director, Jockey Club Racecourses East Region, said;
“We are delighted to be extending our already successful partnership with bet365 further to include two of our autumn highlights, the bet365 Fillies’ Mile and the bet365 Old Rowley Cup.
“Following a successful inaugural bet365 Craven Meeting and Moët and Chandon July Festival, with bet365 as the Official Betting Partner, we are really pleased to be working with them at one of our key Festival’s during the Gold Season and for them to put their name to a top level contest such as the Fillies’ Mile.
“Again, we would like to thank bet365 for their continuous support throughout the season at Newmarket Racecourses and we look forward to working with them across all areas of their partnership.”
Steve Ibberson, Managing Director, bet365, said;
“We extended our association with Newmarket racecourses earlier in 2017 with the April Craven meeting sponsorship, and are very pleased to be able to add to those arrangements by sponsoring another two key races at one of Newmarket’s high profile fixtures in October.
The Group 1 Fillies’ Mile is bet365’s first Group 1 sponsorship, and we hope the race lives up to its usual expectations by providing contenders for the 2018 fillies’ classics. Who can forget the 2015 winner, Minding, who went on to do the 1,000 Guineas/Oaks double the following year.”
